- Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Good Manufacturing Practice
Quality control and GMP are essential for producing clean consistent high quality products. Upcoming regulations will soon require that producers institute methods of quality control, quality assurance, and GMP. In this training module you will learn about what quality assurance, quality control, and GMP are as well as how to incorporate these concepts into your business model.
- Dose Measurement and Unit Conversions
In this training module, you will learn a variety of math related to Cannabis! First you will learn how to effectively calculate dosages for Cannabis products and how to convert dosages to various units of measurement including percent by weight, milligrams per gram, and milligrams per milliliter. Finally you will learn how to calculate the standard deviation of potency among a batch of Cannabis infused products to ensure more representative dose labeling.
- Dose Administration Routes and Effects
This training module explores the ways that Cannabis and Cannabis products can be consumed and how each of these routes of drug administration uniquely interacts with the body.
- Cannabis Testing
Do you know what the Oregon Administrative Rule on Cannabis Testing requires for dispensary compliance? Are you comfortable critically evaluating a laboratory certificate of analysis? This training module will explore Cannabis testing and how it relates to you and your business. You will learn about Oregon’s testing requirements, basic laboratory testing methods, how to interpret a certificate of analysis, and questions that you should ask a lab to ensure you are receiving results you can trust.
- Cannabis Compounds of Therapeutic Interest
This training module explores many of the primary compounds of interest found in Cannabis including cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and fatty acids, primarily. There will be some look at what possible health effects of these compounds as well as a glance at some of the research behind these compounds.
- Chemistry of Cannabis Extractions and Preparations
Need a better understanding of the chemistry and other science involved in Cannabis preparations or extractions? We can help you understand some of the chemistry involved in lipid, alcoholic, organic solvent, and super/subcritical fluid extraction methods. This training does not involve teaching of actual extraction production techniques.

- Thin Layer Chromatography Cannabis Potency Testing
This training workshop comes with a thin layer chromatography Cannabis testing kit with everything you need to get started testing up to 25 samples of Cannabis flowers or concentrates for THC and CBD. Our executive scientist, Dr. Anthony Smith, will work with you closely to ensure you understand the proper applications and limitations of thin layer chromatography as well as basic laboratory techniques and how to utilize the kit efficiently to meet your needs. Thin layer chromatography is a great way of obtaining estimates of Cannabis potency as well as other qualitative information which can be used to enhance quality control, assess decarboxylation efficiency, optimize harvest times, and more!
- "Bud Tender" Training
This training is designed to help give Cannabis dispensary workers (colloquially known as "bud tenders") a crash course in some of the key areas of Cannabis science while seeking answers to some of a bud tender's most often asked questions from customers. This training explores Cannabis compounds, the endocannabinoid system, unit conversions, dose administration routes, and more. We will also work with attendees to address any unique questions they might have to provide an enriching educational experience.
